Yamaha Foundation
A Japanese Motor Company Yamaha was founded in May 1, 1955 by Genichi Kawakami upon separation from Yamaha Corporation founded by Torakusu Yamaha established in 1887 later incorporated in 1897. The Yamaha at that was a musical instrument manufacturer producing Piano, Harmonium, Seraphine and Physarmonica a kind of musical instruments like keyboard fitted in metal or wooden frame. And after 1903, It started manufacturing other hundreds of musical instruments like; Guitars, Drums, Musical Equipment and many more.
Yamaha Motor Company
The Yamaha Motor company’s first motorbike was YA-1 a 125 cc (7.6 cu in) Single cylinder Motorcycle resembles as a copy of the German motorbike called DKW RT 125. The YA-1 was a competitive success in racing from the beginning and won all the Japanese Auto bike Endurance Road Race on that same year.
Yamaha has won the 39 World Championships including in MotoGP and World Superbike. Yamaha is now a Multinational company manufacturing a hundreds of products in Musical Instruments, Musical Production Equipment, Electronic and Sports Products, Semi-Conductor, Boats, Cars, Machines, Engines and many more.
Yamaha in India
Yamaha Motor made its entry in India in 1985 as a joint-venture. In August 2001, it became a 100% subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd, Japan (YMC). In 2008, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. entered into an agreement with YMC to become a joint-investor in the motorcycle manufacturing company India Yamaha Motor Private Limited (IYM). The India Yamaha have a 2 plants at Surajpur (Uttar Pradesh) and Kanchipuram (Tamil Nadu) and supports the production of two-wheelers for domestic as well as overseas markets.
Yamaha in Nepal
MAW Enterprises is the official and authorised distributor of Yamaha Motors in Nepal. MAW Enterprises was founded by P.R. Agrawal in 1964 now a multifaceted conglomerate company in Nepal. MAW not only deals with Yamaha two-wheelers but stands out with its variety of associates brands like; Yamaha Generators, Yamaha Music, Skoda, Foton, JCB, Jeep, Fiat, Escorts, MAW Engineering, MAW Investments and many more.
